Enhancing Quality In Teaching Through TV Program in Papua New Guinea (EQUITV Phase 2)

After the end of the EQUITV Phase 1, based on achievements of EQUITV Project, the DoE formulated a National Education Media Policy (NEMP) in 2010. The DoE introduced the ‘EQUITV Program’ as an extension program for the EQUITV activities since 2009 and implemented the dissemination of EQUITV activities supported by the JICA Advisor.

The DoE formulated the Universal Basic Education Plan (UBE Plan) 2010-2019 in 2009 to address as the priority agenda, improving access and quality of basic education. The DoE has positioned the EQUITV Program as one of the important elements of achieving the UBE goals. Under such circumstances, the DoE requested the Government of Japan to support the effective and efficient dissemination of the EQUITV program Phase 2.

IC Net is the contract holder for the EQUITV phase 2.  Our team is working on the activities to develop the structure for achieving the nationwide dissemination of EQUITV Program. The project aims to scale up the TV model lessons and the resource materials developed in Phase 1. The training workshops are aimed to achieve the output of utilizing EQUITV program in classrooms in target provinces.  The module teaches how to introduce and utilize the EQUITV Program in classroom teaching through which all trainees become capable of utilizing EQUITV Program right after receiving training.
